About Our Curriculum...

King’s Town Child Development Center uses the Abeka curriculum beginning in the two-year-old class through the Kindergarten Readiness class. The Abeka curriculum supports our goal of helping children develop academically, spiritually, and intellectually.

The Abeka curriculum challenges students at each age level and provides teachers with a platform to build a foundation for learning. Abeka also helps reinforce character development and biblical values, which are key components of our preschool.

We also use the LetterLand curriculum in conjunction with the Abeka curriculum in our three-year-old and four-year-old classes.  LetterLand uses a story-based approach to teach phonics.  Children learn tricks to help sound out the letters as they learn to read.

In addition to the curriculum used in each classroom, King’s Town provides a robust STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) rotation.  Examples of items in rotation include the subjects below.

Classrooms

King’s Town classrooms open as early as 7 a.m., and each classroom provides early care until the school day begins at 9 a.m. While each classroom has its own age-appropriate schedule, all classrooms focus on learning between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. During the school day, each classroom will have structured circle and learning time, curriculum development, center-based play, free play (in the full-size gym or fenced-in playground), and of course snacks and lunch!

Infants and Waddlers

Our infant and waddler classes maintain a low ratio, offer an age-appropriate setting with fun and interactive toys, and are staffed by qualified and caring teachers. Full-time options only.

One Year Old's

The one-year-old classrooms are designed to engage and educate little minds with interactive toys, age-appropriate crafts, and fun activities. Our one-year-old classrooms also enjoy circle time, and playground or gym activities each day.

Two-Year-Old's

Our two-year-old classrooms support growth and independence with daily circle time, the introduction of the Abeka curriculum, center-based play, access to STEM activities, and fun crafts. The two-year-old classes also participate in Chapel, which is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Three-Year-Old's

Our three-year-old classes are designed to engage the interactive and curious minds of growing preschoolers. These classrooms continue the focus on education and independence with daily circle time, Abeka curriculum with the introduction of LetterLand, center-based play, access to STEM activities, and fun crafts. All three-year-old classrooms are equipped with SmartBoard technology. The three-year-old classes also participate in Chapel, which is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Four-Year-Old's

As four-year-olds prepare for kindergarten, we encourage them to think critically, explore new ideas, and cultivate social skills. Our four-year-old classrooms work diligently on kindergarten preparation with daily circle time, Abeka and LetterLand curriculum, STEM activities, crafts, and center-based play. All four-year-old classrooms are equipped with Smart Board technology, which allows teachers to integrate learning with the technology of today. The four-year-old classes also participate in Chapel, which is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Kindergarten Readiness

Our Kindergarten Readiness class mirrors our regular four-year-old class, however, this class operates as a more traditional kindergarten classroom, and children enrolled in Readiness are required to attend Monday through Friday. This class completes one additional Kindergarten Readiness Abeka book compared to the other four-year-old classes.
